Our Philosophy
At Pound for Pound Scheveningen, we believe that no one fights alone and nobody gets left behind. We embrace the philosophy of Ubuntu, the belief that "I am because we are." While Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an individual test on the mats, true growth is entirely a team effort. We recognize that our personal development is deeply tied to the development of our training partners. By combining disciplined technique with a family-oriented culture, we challenge each other, protect each other, and rise together as a community.

Meet Our Team

Our Head Coach Elias Melquiades is a 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt with over a decade of coaching experience.
Teaching Philosophy
We believe Jiu-Jitsu is best taught through patient repetition and personal attention. Every technique is broken down step by step, with coaching that adapts to each student's pace — so beginners build a genuine foundation and experienced practitioners keep refining their game.
What Makes Us Different
We keep our class sizes small, so every student gets individual attention and hands-on corrections — not just a spot in a crowded room. Our academy is built around a family-oriented culture where kids and adults train side by side, support each other, and grow together, both on and off the mats.
